Giving to GSAS

The GSAS Annual Fund provides flexible support for students enrolled at the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences at Columbia University. The Fund comprises the Dean’s Special Initiatives Fund and the General Fund.  It is spent down each year to support current graduate students, and is fundamental to the vibrancy of intellectual and student life at Columbia.

The generosity of the school's alumni has always been vital to allow the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences to fulfill its responsibility to enhance the life of graduate students at Columbia. Please make a gift to GSAS to support graduate education today. GSAS is committed to providing our students and faculty with every resource possible to perform groundbreaking work in their chosen fields.

Your giving supports:

  • Expanded access to grants that allow Master's and Ph.D. students to travel to present a paper or musical composition nationally or abroad
  • Financial aid
  • Annual stipends and summer research support for doctoral students
  • Family leave policies for both men and women for childbirth, adoption, and foster parenting
