OADI’s monthly seminar series centers the experiences of students from backgrounds that historically have been underrepresented in academic settings – primarily students of color and those whose identities are similarly marginalized and excluded. The seminars range in format from information sessions, panel discussions, and skill-building workshops, and cover topics intended to remove barriers to students’ capacity to thrive as students, scholars, and professionals.
Examples of past workshops include:
- Applying to Ford Foundation Fellowships Programs
- Demystifying the Tenure-Track Hiring Process and Diversity Considerations
- Establishing Your Mentor Network and Plan
