The Diversity Film Series with Scholars on Scene celebrates heritage, culture, and identity through film, with film selections often aligning with nationally designated heritage months. Free film screenings are followed by Scholars on Scene, a talk-back session with Columbia scholars at the graduate, postdoctoral, or faculty level whose work is relevant to the film or the heritage group being recognized that month.
The series kicks off each September, in recognition of Hispanic Heritage month, and ends in May, in recognition of Asian Pacific American Heritage month.
All movies included in the Diversity Film Series will be available for viewing on a Columbia University Library platform, unless noted otherwise.
