Diversity Film Series: Kumu Hina (2014)

Celebrate LGBTQ History Month with the GSAS Office of Academic Diversity and Inclusion at a free screening of Dean Hamer and Joe Wilson's documentary about Hina Wong-Kalu, a native Hawaiian teacher, activist, and cultural icon who lives in between the traditional ways of the indigenous, third-gender, māhū culture, and as a modern transgender person in contemporary Hawaii. Before the screening, LeShae Henderson, first-year doctoral student in Sociology, will facilitate a conversation and audience Q&A with Joss Greene, doctoral candidate in Sociology.
