Awards and Prizes

Students in the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences are regularly honored for their outstanding achievements in research and teaching. Below are links to some of the awards and prizes available to our students. Click here to view a list of previous recipients.

  • The Bancroft Award and Baron Prize recognize excellence in dissertations that have been successfully defended. There is no application procedure for students; nominations are made by faculty.
     
  • The GSAS International Travel Fellowship provides funding for international travel that is necessary for the completion of the dissertation.
     
  • The Lindt and Zuckerman Fellowships enable recipients to complete the writing of their dissertations during the award year.
     
  • The Presidential Teaching Award honors outstanding graduate student teachers. There is no application procedure for students; nominations are made by faculty and undergraduates.
